Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Every manuscript submitted to Revista CoPaLa. Construyendo Paz Latinoamericana must be original, unpublished and not simultaneously submitted to another journal, book, editorial repository or academic publication outlet.

The journal carries out textual similarity review and editorial analysis to prevent plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, citation manipulation, use of nonexistent references, appropriation of others’ ideas or any practice contrary to academic integrity.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is understood as the total or partial reproduction of texts, ideas, arguments, data, images, tables, results or materials belonging to other persons without the corresponding citation and reference.

Insufficient paraphrasing, the use of external fragments without quotation marks when they are direct quotations, omission of authorship and the presentation as one’s own of content generated or produced by third parties are also considered plagiarism.

Self-Plagiarism or Redundant Publication

Self-plagiarism or redundant publication is understood as the substantive reuse of one’s own previously published works without clearly indicating it, without providing a new contribution or without academically justifying the reuse of the material.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools does not exempt authors from their responsibility for the originality, accuracy, truthfulness and proper citation of the manuscript.

The fabrication of references, data or results through artificial intelligence or any other means will be considered a serious breach of editorial ethics.

Editorial Measures before Publication

When relevant similarities, citation omissions, substantive duplication or indications of malpractice are detected before publication, the manuscript may be returned, rejected or withdrawn from the editorial process.

Editorial Measures after Publication

If the irregularity is detected after publication, the journal may issue corrections, retractions, editorial notices or withdraw the article, in accordance with its editorial ethics, corrections and retractions policies.
