Abstract

This study examines learning motivation in elementary school students from an ecological perspective, considering the interaction between personal, family, and school factors that give rise to it. It is a qualitative case study involving 16 students from an elementary school in the municipality of Culiacán. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted to identify the conditions that motivate them to learn and to understand the factors that determine this motivation.

The results show that, on a personal level, motivation is configured as a dynamic system where personal goals and expectations are reinforced by the immediate context. The school acts as an emotional and social ecosystem, driven by curiosity, participation, and the desire to learn. Likewise, daily support and communication within the family environment proved to be essential factors that reinforce enthusiasm. In conclusion, motivation for learning depends on the harmonious interaction between the student, the school, and the family; therefore, it is important to promote affective relationships among the different microsystems to strengthen it. Keywords: Learning, Context, School, Family, Motivation.
