The role of parental beliefs in family involvement

Abstract

This text generates some reflections about the importance of family participation in school and the weight that parents' own expectations have in this process. As a methodology, reflection is observed from multiple international articles that serve as input to present the panorama with a graphic analysis in which parental participation positively influences academic achievement, as a relevant contribution of this article it is concluded that participation of parents depends on their own expectations of achievement as these radically influence the process.

Doctorante en educación de la Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala en México, con maestría en Enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera de la Universidad veracruzana (México); Licenciado en lenguas de la Universidad del Quindío en Colombia.

Docente del área de idiomas a nivel universitario y a nivel secundaria. Sus áreas de interés son: investigación en Familia, desempeño académico y vínculo de docentes con la familia, para apoyar los procesos educativos de los estudiantes.
