Abstract

The purpose of this article is to reflect on the process and experience of conducting mini-ethnographic case studies in education, applied in short-term research projects, for single events or isolated occurrences. The plasticity of ethnography has led it to present various forms where it has to adjust to its own research needs, thus becoming an interdisciplinary matter. Thus, it was necessary to rethink ethnography to make way for new proposals. Particularly interesting in this work was to point out the mini ethnographic case study method, because it allows focusing on few aspects, thus breaking the totalizing intention and considering the limitations of time and resources that most researchers present; The integration of elements of ethnography, microethnography, school ethnography, case study and ethnographic case study is deepened, resulting in a flexible method and wide in possibilities. Various applications in educational research are presented.
