Women's history as a history of silence and violence. Between genealogy and archeology.

Abstract

The attempt of this work consists of rethinking some shortcuts of women's history as a history of silence, from certain interpretative hinges, which allow us to weave paths of understanding regarding the current situation of women in Latin America, especially in Argentina. from the signs of violence that still persist in the different areas where women work and from femicides as a socially sustained practice.

These interpretative hinges constitute the core of a genealogical proposal capable of making us rethink our own constitution as subjects, of knowing more about ourselves as a way of resisting the subjectifying model of patriarchy, of an andro-phallo-centric matrix, and opening the possibility of a transformation of the conditions of existence.

The history of women in Latin America is subtended around this vision of hegemonic power, which outlines the scenario of asymmetric and inequitable games in the exercise of power.

Only from a genealogical reading, which necessarily calls to think about the concept of resistance, as inseparable from the notion of power, can processes of historical construction of subjectivity be dismantled and, from such deconstruction, strengthen new subjectivizing shortcuts, always mobile and in perspective. This is the combat topos of women as a collective.
