Agri-food tourism proposal based on local resources with territorial identity in Jiquipilco, Mexico.

Abstract
Sustainable development is addressed from agrotourism activities for the use pulquero maguey in Jiquipilco, Mexico. Objective study was to generate an alternative tourism proposal based on local resources with territorial identity associated with the agri-food system of the agave pulquero in Jiquipilco. A non-experimental and cross-sectional design was used, with a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach, under a participatory methodology. The contextualization of the case study was obtained from primary and secondary sources; the identification and prioritization of products and attractions with tourist potential; and the design of a comprehensive agrotourism proposal, according to the socio-productive vocation of the territory. Results indicate that there is a wide diversity of tangible and intangible natural resources of cultural, environmental and food importance that can be used in alternative tourism ventures. Using geotechnologies to carry out the inventory of tourism resources helped to have a preliminary projection of attractions with territorial identity, providing a useful database for tourism planning, which contributed to the management of natural resources and the formulation of tourism enterprises aimed at social development and environmental sustainability.
