Anti-communism in Sonora and the attack on the collectivist ejidos.
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Sonora, during the government of General Abelardo L. Rodríguez 1943-1949, the great modernization Project was out, which tried to cover all áreas of Sonora. The Project tried to take advantage of the context of the Second World and the proximity to the United States. The urbanization of the capital would be the symbol of progress of the state. This state of developmentalism provoked a great social mobilization of unions and small agraristas who refused to participate in the offer of progress and modernization that the elites and government promoted. Faced with such opposition, the government developed a whole structure in order to counter opponents, where anti-communism was the perfect formula to combat peasant resistance.
